NIceCast is a wonderful application that lets you 'hijack' any system audio, whether it be your house-mix sound card or your actual mixing application. Here is a simple guide to setting it up with Traktor. On a mac obviously

Step one: Run NiceCast and enter in any of your information you'd like (URL, name, etc)

Step two, open up traktor's broadcast settings, (If I remember right L4V uses a 96kbps mp3 stream so set your encoding accordingly in NiceCast) Enter the port (usually 8000 make sure it's forwarded on your router/gateway!!!!) That you have NC setup to use as well as the IP address, which, If you're running NC on the same machine will either be 'localhost' or '127.0.0.1' without the quotes of course. Broadcast setup is done for traktor!

Step three: Enter your information for your stream address and login in the nicecast preferences.

step 4: Select your audio interface or application in NC as the hijacked audio device. I use an aggregate audio device in Mac OS 10.6.1, if you have the same, then just click advance next to the dropdown menu for the audio device to select your outputs.

Step 5: Click the Window menu and click Show Server. Click the '+'in the list of servers, enter your login credentials and save it. check the radio button next to the new L4V settings to activate it, start your broadcast and click 'on-air' in Traktor!

Step 6: ROCK THE HOUSE!

You don't need to worry about the CPU settings or anything in NC unless you notice popping or CPU spiking in Traktor. Adjust to preference.

ALWAYS PERFORM A SIMPLE TEST STREAM BEFORE MAKING THESE SETTINGS CONCRETE! CONTACT YOUR STREAM ADMIN!
