Also, we want all our DJs to interact with eachother, we have a chatroom where we interact as well as with the listeners.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE

We will allow you to use any equipment of your choice for you to mix competently. This includes, but not limited to, turntables, CDJ's, Software based mixing programs such as Virtual DJ and Traktor to name two.

SOFTWARE

Winamp and Shoutcast DSP or EdCast should be installed on your computer system, or if you have a MAC, Nicecast is suitable. The information for shoutcast, to connect to our stream servers, shall be given upon a successful application. We can provide you with links to Download Winamp and Shoutcast DSP, EdCast or NiceCast upon a successful application.

INTERNET CONNECTION & NETWORKING / ROUTERS

You must have an ADSL / Cable / T1 or other Broadband connection with a minimum upload speed of 256kps. Your download speed is unimportant, however upload speed is. It is not permitted to use a wireless connection to stream over. Wireless links are often unstable and do not provide a reliable connection to the net. You can test your connection speed below and compare it our example.

HOSTING THE SET

Ideally, part of your setup should include a microphone for hosting. By hosting we mean, informing listeners of the show/DJ they are listening to, any shouts or requests and dedications asked for in shoutbox and chat. You are not required to use a microphone, but we do encourage one to be used.

PRE-RECORDED SETS ON LIVE SETS

Pre-recorded shows are not acceptable. Your show must be broadcast live from the moment you connect to the moment you disconnect.

PROMOTING

You are encouraged to promote yourselves and your sets on Live4Vibez. We can only do so much in terms of promotion.

ADVERTISING ON YOUR SETS

You may only use "our" jingles and adverts. You are prohibited from advertising any other station throughout your show - FM, Internet, Pirate or otherwise. Failure to comply with this term shall result in an instant suspension.

OTHER DJ'S / MC'S ON YOUR SHOW (GUESTS)

You may have guest DJ's / MC's on your show, however please be aware that you are responsible for the actions of your guest. Should your guest(s) violate any of these terms, you may be suspended.

SWEARING & ABUSE

You are free to express yourself in any manner however hard swearing may not be used in any manner, on air or anywhere on Live4Vibez.

SCHEDULES

You can only broadcast at your agreed day and time that you've booked, our system is designed to eliminate abuse by stopping DJs connecting randomly.

MUSIC GENRES & MIXING

Live4Vibez is a electronic dance station, which means all of our deejays should be playing either: garage, house, jungle, drum & bass, trance, techno, donk, r&b - with any sub-genres under these. We would like our deejays to refrain from playing other genres including, pop, rock, classical, motown, reggae, etc. Save that for mobile bookings. Also, we require our deejays to be able to mix tunes into each other - unlike radio and wedding deejays where the tunes are played after each other.

TIME KEEPING

You are required to have good time-keeping which means being prompt for your booked sets. Be ready with all settings correct. Failure to do so will result in a warning being given. If you know you are going to be late for your show or are unable to broadcast your show for whatever reason, please let us know as soon as possible.

PASSWORDS & STREAM INFORMATION

You are forbidden to give out any passwords or related information provided to you for streaming your sets. Only management has permission to give out passwords. If it is found that such information has been passed to persons not associated as a Live4Vibez DJ, this will result in instant dismissal.

LIVE SHOWS

Every set is recorded to MP3 for download and, subject to your connection, for pre-record when there are no DJs live. If you do not wish for your show(s) to be added to our archive section, please inform the management of this after every show.

HOLIDAYS

If you're going on holiday for a while, it would be polite to tell us this is the case. It will also help in preventing your login to be deactivated due to a lengthy absence.

Rules

Instead of being required to pick a time and day that you want to play on every week when you apply, the following will occur:

  • Each time/day slot will be open to bookings, and you may pick as many or as few set times for the week as you would like.
  • At the end of each set, the bookings that were for that set are wiped (unless you, of course, permanently booked a set), allowing people to book them again should they wish to. Basically, you book your time, you play it, and it is removed from the timetable, giving you no obligation to play again at that time.
  • There's a function to the admin menu to allow you to book your own sets, so you can play when you wish. If for example, you wanted to mix for 2 hours and neither Pedster, Steve H or Vertrik are online, you could add yourself to the next free spot, and play those 2 hours live, no problems. However, if you wish to play on our TV Studio, then a manager has to be around, this is why some times are unbookable.
  • The system would work in a similar to booking for example a tennis court. If you wished to play the same time every week, you would simply book the day/time and tick the Permenantly book this set every week. If you knew you had something on for the following week and could not play, no worries, you just would not book for that week, so do not tick the permanent box!

Whilst this removes a lot of the commitment issues that arise from having permanent set times, it also puts more responsibility onto you as DJs. The fear we have is that people will see this as an opportunity to stuff around and play whatever and whenever and will not book. This is not how it will work. Here are some guidelines for the system:

  • To play, you must book that time. Even if the set time starts in 5 minutes, and no one else is booked, you still have to sign up for it if you want to play it, so that the correct information is shown about who is playing to our listeners.
  • All sets will still be 2 hours long, 1 hour for TV Studio. If you can not commit to the full 1 or 2 hours, do not book the time. Also, if a set time has already started and no one else is playing but you wish to, you will still need permission to play the remainder of the set. This is to prevent people wanting to play the last 20 minutes of an un-used set time just to stuff around.
  • The sets you play still need to be professional. Just because we are making it so you can play as open as you like, doesn't mean the quality of the sets should deteriorate.
  • Because you will have the ability to book each set you play, there are really no excuses for missing a set. If you book a time and don't show, you will need a very good reason for it, and if its a permanent set, you will loose it.
  • Anyone found not following these guidelines will, if need be, be prevented from booking a set for a week. We are not that big on rules, but we think these are important guidelines that will allow us to use this system for the timetable, whilst still maintaining the good general quality of each set.
  • You will need to book at least 2 sets every month (29 days), failing to do so will result in you being deleted from our database.
  • You have your own Audio Studio stream password located in our admin area - this is private and for eyes only, so please don't give it out.

GENERAL RULES

  • NO Swearing (as in yourselves if you use a mic) on air at any time, we have listeners of all ages and in all countries.
  • Any problems with the stream server, website, etc - contact DJ Pedster on MSN (dj_pedster@hotmail.co.uk) ASAP.
  • Do not mess around with the admin shout box(es) when you are not live, doing so will get you banned from the site and from broadcasting. We keep logs of every delete action.
  • If a person is repeatedly abusing the shout box, by swearing, spamming or shouting abuse, you are allowed to ban that user/I.P.
  • Try and answer all shouts & request from the shout-box.
  • After your set(s), please make sure that you disconnect WinAmp DSP / Nicecast / VirtualDJ from our Shoutcast server.
  • If you use a Mic, do not speak over vocals on a track - it sounds unprofessional
  • Do not disclose any passwords you are given, doing so will result in an instant ban
  • If you miss a set without notifying us as to why within 12hours after, you will be deleted from our site.

For New DJs

You must have a MSN Live Messenger, GTalk, Skype, or a Yahoo address, and add the management team to it;

All DJs must be on a messenger when they are live, so they can communicate with management;

All DJs must do a 20 minute test stream for the Audio Studio prior to be able to book a timetable placement - so, make sure you have access to any of the above messengers;

Thank you..
